Innovations and expansion at Flamingo Parket

Flamingo Parket has been in a state of flux in recent years. Since Flamingo in 2017 the popular Raftwood collection it started quickly. “The unprocessed character of Raftwood provides the 'natural experience' sought after by consumers and has become an unprecedented success,” says Dick van de Klok. “On a scale that we ourselves did not see coming. In the meantime, 40.000 square meters of Raftwood have been sold again this year. Due to this success and the high demand, we recently started using a third press line especially for this collection.”

Building on Raftwood's success, Flamingo has continued to develop. Launched late last year Patina collection with its 'lived' character is a good example of this. “Our Patina has also become a true success and has been well received.” Innovation and further development seem to be the keywords behind the success of recent years. “We are certainly not standing still. After the third press line for Raftwood, we are working on a new investment in a brushing machine with which we want to put a completely new product on the market. We are also developing a method to make the 'smoking' process fully automatic. We expect to get that done next month. With this we have the smoking process completely under control. The first results are wonderful. This offers great benefits to both the parquet installer and the consumer. You have fewer color differences and that is of course great with attachments, for example.”

In terms of finishing, Flamingo comes with another novelty. “We bring a product with a 2K oil that is sprayed with 2 ultra matt coats of paint. It has the warm appearance of oil with the protection of lacquer. The floor is low-maintenance and cleaning is super easy,” concludes Dick van de Klok.
